Gender equality in science is a major challenge for higher education systems, which are facing many constraints. This book presents some of the latest research findings from Germany, South Africa and Austria on women’s careers in science and research. Silvester Popescu-Willigmann is a research associate (social economy, social business management, third-sector research, social injustice) at the IGD and is also a university lecturer. Prof. Dr. Roswitha Pioch is executive director of the IGD and a professor of political science, social policymaking and injustice related research. Prof. Dr. Sabah Badri-Höher is associate director of the IGD and a professor of digital signal processing and digital communication. The editors all work at the Kiel University of Applied Sciences in Germany.
