The International Izmir Fair has a close relation even a uniformity with the development process of the city of Izmir as well as the historical development of the Turkish Republic. The Fairs of 1944 and 1945 were opened only for the national attendants. There was no possibility of the participation of any European country. Because the war has covered all of Europe and Europeans were struggling to save their days. 1.059 local companies attended the fair of 1944 and in 1945 participation was 1160. Totally 2.5 million people visited the Fairs in these two years.
